Well I only really bought a Wii for 3 games. So far I have Metroid, Zelda, and Super Smash is coming out in December. Metroid takes priority over Zelda, so I'm playing the hell out of it right now.
I wouldn't really call it an FPS, just like I wouldn't refer to the other ones as such. It's more a 3D adaptation of the original Metroid games, only even better. The controls felt clumsy as hell when I originally started playing, but now that I've gotten used to them they feel more natural than any other game I've ever played. I'd definitely suggest getting it since you already have a Wii, since it's definitely the best of the Prime series.
I'm not that far into it, so I can't really give a good review for it yet. I finished the first seed not too long ago and now I'm on the next planet and just got the boost ball. All the events have used the Wii controls the way they're supposed to be used, and I've run into plenty of great puzzles. Hopefully I'll get a beam upgrade soon, since I'm still using the one I started out with after about 10 hours of playing.
Not liking FPS games shouldn't put you off playing it. Other people have called it a "first person adventure" which is a bit more accurate.

Heh, I had no trouble getting a Wii. :P
But congrats. Corruption looks pretty sweet, although I'm not a big FPS fan. Tell me all about it, man.
